A MANHOLE. What is it? It is utility hole, maintenance hole, or sewer hole is an opening to a confined space such as a shaft, utility vault, or large vessel. Manholes are often used as an access point for an underground public utility, allowing inspection, maintenance, and system upgrades. The majority of underground services have manholes, including water, sewers, telephone, electricity, storm drains, district heating, and gas. This is a view from my window, how many of them we can see on just this one intersection of Front Street East and George? Exactly 25! Or not, down on the ground I counted 26 of them. |

First set is all |
Manholes are generally found in urban areas, in streets and occasionally under sidewalks. Manhole closings are protected by a grating or manhole cover, a flat plug designed to prevent accidental or unauthorized access to the manhole. These covers are traditionally made of metal. This first set is all about danger, danger from above or danger is bellow? |

We will see here so many of them. These ones are having rectangular shape. I tried to figure out their density. In just one very short walk from this same location in downtown Toronto I counted 99 of them in just around 200m! |

Bell Canada, MFN (Metromedia Fiber Network Services) Telus and Allstream. Three inscriptions are in this case clear: telephone and fiber connection, one more fiber network in Toronto and third one providing business communications services. Most of them are just puzzles for passers by. |

What's going where? |
Looking at this one above, we are even more puzzled what is hiding beneath. What's going where? Back in the city of Toronto we noticed this very very sad case. Two ugly manholes in the middle of the wonderful Zodiac Compass, created by sidewalk artist Victor Fraser in September 2015, on the quite hidden Chester Hill Lookout, check it out, great space by itself overlooking great portion of the city of Toronto. |

| Few days ago we came back for the trip to our birth town, Belgrade, Serbia with two new manholes. One to the right is with official City seal [logo], and the other one is from controversial newly developed Belgrade Waterfront area on the river Sava bank, in the city center. | ||||||
