malta village is still having traces of the neighbourhood of first immigrants that came from malta at the beginning of the 20th century. simple cobblestone paved area with few benches, mature trees and discrete lighting along with distinguished maltese cross in the neghbourhood banners, posted very recently, has same resemblance to the similar size squares all over mediterranean. very pleasant space surrounded by air malta, maltese canadian society, malta bake shop, st. paul the apostle church and a small park named "malta park". there is of course lot of room for improvements which can be expected soon, specially since the "orphan spaces" initiative organized in may 2006 by city of toronto. this space is closest to the taste of island of malta that you can find on this side of the atlantic ocean!
