mel lastman was last mayor of the north york, one of the toronto parts before amalgamated in one city couple of years ago. great ambition to create new "downtown" in the city resulted with area being build up quite significantly. this square is in the hearth of this new city center.

square is little overedesigned but otherwise with lot of nice features, greenery, useful urban furniture, even the skating rink during the winter. it is used during the day by people in surrounding office buildings and for special occasions, celebrations and public concerts.
