Plaza Serreno, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2012[open in full screen]

In the posh Palermo neighbourhood on the intersection of Honduras and and one of the most famous Argentinians, writer Jorge Luis Borges Street, we found this nice plaza. Strangely it has two names, Plaza Serreno and Plazoleta Julio Cortazar. Or maybe there are two separate plazas just united here? Both of them are very popular and once there it will be also clear to you why. All around are very charming, inexpensive, restaurants and cafes, our favourite being "Sans" with patio above, with excellent overview of the whole square.

During the day there is a design and craft fair with finds that you can't expect anywhere else in the city. We met here wonderful artist, I believe her name was Martha, with few of her works, three dimensional collages, on the photos bellow.

At night bars and restaurants around the square are opening their doors not only to offer drinks and food, but also to sell the production of talented clothing and accessories designers.

Every weekend, bars are turned into true design fairs, in which thousands of people wander around to find an original t-shirt or a nice necklace. In the neighbouring streets you can find plenty of really fancy boutiques with high fashion which is making this whole area the epicenter of Buenos Aires fashion.

There is another square in this area called Plaza Palermo, visit it for quite different experience.
