This is not exactly fitting the criteria of our definition of urban square. It is still public gathering space in the urban area with very rich history, and one of our favourite place.
We have a Serbian grocery store nearby and we are using, in both directions. these facts as an excuse to visit them.
High Park is Toronto's largest public park featuring many hiking trails, sports facilities, diverse vegetation, a beautiful lakefront, convenient parking, easy public transit access, a dog park, a zoo, playgrounds for children, a couple of eateries, greenhouses, picnic areas, a bunch of squirrels and various events throughout the year.
We are enjoying this quite unusual, 17 degrees Celsius, weather in middle of March to stretch our legs and observe the lake Ontario in the distance.
Recently access to the park is blocked during weekends, seriously restricting usage of those not living in the walking distance. Totally unfair! Protest is still going on.
