Since the entrance to the condominium called New Times Square, with approximately 250 apartments, is on this square it is logical that it is also named the same way. It is located in the downtown Toronto.

Blocks #01 and #06 of the so called first 10 blocks of the 1793 Toronto, corner of Jarvis and Front Street East is where this place is located.

Space is two rectangular squares and a Front Street running diagonally true it. It is probably a consequence of a rectangular street plan in 1793, when the first 10 blocks were drawn in the non-existent town, then called York Township.

On this eastern part of the square, we have 10 restaurants, yes, 10, not a mistake, one computer repair shop, one convenience corner store, and one empty shop space if you are interested.

On the other western portion, there is a very famous, voted number one in the world, St. Lawrence Market. The first buildings erected for the market emerged in 1814, with the first permanent structures built in 1820. The first permanent market building was replaced in 1831 with the first St. Lawrence Market North building.

In the early 1900s portions of a former Toronto city hall has been integrated into the ground-breaking facility, which opened as St. Lawrence Market South in 1902, and a counterpart north wing was constructed in 1904, later architecturally replaced in 1968.

The North building was demolished in 2016.

In June 2019, work on the new St. Lawrence Market North started and it was finally finished and opened in April 2025.

The whole space is very pleasant and vibrant, restaurants, including expanded patio space, are always full to capacity.
