Parque Central de Alajuela, is the simple and much more popular name for this typical Latino American square in the centre of the city, close to the main city church.

Alajuela was founded in 1813 and today it is a second largest city in the country, actually part of the metropolitan area of Costa Rica's capital of San Jose.
