Campo San Martin, Venezia, Italy, 2001[for real experience open in full screen]

  Previous Place aux Herbes, Uzes

A small, pedestrian and gondolas–only square in the eastern Venezia, very close to the Arsenale, the location of the famous art exhibition “La Biennale di Venezia”.

There is a small church of San Martin and a lot of residential houses on this square, as well as an intersection of three canals, two bridges and a little harbour.

A very nice example of what a social public space should be.

Last row of photos bellow are from 1981 when we for the first time we visited La Biennale di Venezia”. We at that point also walked true this area since that is a natural pedestrian connection with the rest of the city, but Virtual Reality was not even invented at that time and these photos were taken with our reliable Pentax SE film camera.

This is a very first square ever made for our collection. We visited this square and made panoramas again in 2007 and 2011. Of course that you are curious to see if it is changed in any way, so visit them now.

Visit square with the same name in Buenos Aires with very different characteristics.
