Piazza Della Frutta, Padova, Italy, 2007[open in full screen]

Previous Vicolo del Duomo, Treviso, Italy

In the beautiful ancient city of Padova, founded in 12th century BC, Piazza Della Frutta and its sorella [sister] Piazza Delle Erbe surround Palazzo Della Ragione finished in 1219. On the upper floor of this magnificent building is the great hall, one of the largest roofs unsupported by columns – 81. 5 by 27 m. [photo bellow left]

On the lower level underneath it is a centuries-old market still fully functional today.

This panorama was taken ten minutes before noon when markets and stores were still open. Lot of activities [and excellent finds] under loggias, arcades and in the side streets are making this space very attractive.

Just 15 minutes later other panorama was made on Piazza Delle Erbe just on the other side of palazzo with completely different atmosphere.
