This space was originally build and used as ceremonial court yard by the entrance to the court, Palácio Nacional de Sintra.

  It is a best preserved palace in Portugal and continouosly built and rebuilt beetween 1415 and the 19th century.   In 1910 palace was converted to national monument – museum and this space was ever since used as a public square. Small photo is from visit in 2017.
