Delijska Cesma, Beograd, Srbija, 2007[open in full screen]

  Previous

This space is in the same pedestrian area, connected to several other squares [Trg Republike, Studentski Trg and Plato]. This is one of the oldest regulated streets in Beograd, clearly visible in the map from 1878.

It was converted to strictly pedestrian zone back in 1980s. Reconstructed from the old photographs and drawings this public well [cesma] with drinkable water is very popular among locals but also very convenient for visitors.
Whole area is very cleverly planned and some of the oldest structures in Belgrade are blended perfectly with contemporary architecture.

But look at the people in this street [small photos bellow], beautiful, aren't they?
