Park Vojvode Bojovica, Beograd, Srbija, 2007[open in full screen]

  Previous

This very typical, little park is touching on the south side one of the biggest and most famous permanent market space in Beograd, Kaleniceva pijaca [Kalenic market]. It is surrounded with narrow streets, parallel parking is aloud and it is still connected with the neighbourhood. It is always busy and well used.

To be honest main reason that this park was selected is that the monument to one of the famous first world war Dukes [Vojvoda] – Petar Bojovic is located here.

Why is he important? Because he is my great grandfather. Interestingly location of his brother's house, where I grew up and lived until I was 10 years old, is just few steps away, almost visible in the panorama [red arrow on a map bellow].

First photo bellow of young Duke Petar Bojovic is taken around 1900 with the inscription to his brother Radule [my grand grand father]. Two photos bellow that one are showing a location of our old house as it looks today and view drawn by me from memory. More about house where I grew up and our family history you can find here.
