This lively and very important square is the center of the modern city and the starting point of Las Ramblas [on the first photo bellow right], the most famous street in Barcelona. On our map it is just bellow the square.

Plaça de Catalunya is a large, open space, decorated with trees and fountains, a wonderful meeting spot. It is also surrounded by many department stores, banks and hotels. Undergoround is a large tourist information center, and the metro station Catalunya, a major connecting point.
