Passo di Gavia – elevation 2.621 m[open in full screen]

  Previous Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, Hawai'i, HI, USA

The Passo di Gavia at an elevation of 2.621 m (8,599 ft)is one of the highest and on of most beautiful passes of the Alps and divides the province of Sondrio.

This was definetly a highlight of our Europen trip this summer. We visited this Pass on august 16, 2011.

The top is a Glacier and the temperature at this elevation is fairly low even in the middle of the summer.

Where it is and how to find it? Just follow map bellow right, it is approximately 40km south-east of Bormio, Italy.
