this very very famous and very very small public space in the hearth of downtown london is having special sentimental value for me. on one of my first travel abroad [it was a big deal in back in 1969] this square was main meeting point for me and friends and you can imagine amount of time spent there in the time without cell phones. but time was well spent. experiences memorable. space if still having unbelievable people watching quality. it was built in 1819 to connect major shopping and entertainment areas in london.

the statue, generally believed to depict eros, but actually an image of his twin brother, anteros, is a well known london "icon". together with surrounding steps and fountain is one of the most recognizable city visuals. is it is otherwise quite noisy, overcrowded, especially in the evening rush hour when underground entrances are "swallowing" enormous amount of people. but I love it! [together with the dam in amsterdam and few other spaces in paris].
