this space in the residential area of amsterdam is the best example, that I am aware of, of a public square recently developed. with many new buildings, well incorporated into the traditional architecture and in keeping with the extraordinary atmosphere of the city.

it is used by both tourists visiting the nearby waterloo market and locals. it can be compared with traditional squares, like the san martin in venezia, using the same type of human dimensions and buildings proportions.
