this large public space is located in the parc de la cuitadella. the popular gardens boast a boating lake, orange groves and naturalized parrots that inhabit the lovely park. it's main gateway known as the arc del triomf was built for the 1888 universal exhibition which filled the park. a striking frieze on the main façade of the arc represents barcelona welcoming spirit for foreign visitors.
