this space in downtown beograd was a busy turning point for busses arriving to the city, only 20 years ago. there was no trace of the atmosphere it exudes today. recently, some very popular restaurants expanded their patios under 100 year old sycamore trees.

greenery and paving have been improved significantly. a monument to the politician and painter mose pijade erected on the square lends the square its name. it has become one of the most popular resting oases in the city.
