kraljevo [king city], city in central srbija took this name in 1892 when at that time serbian king milan obrenovic visited the area. this circular square was realized according to the first urbanistic plan for the city [one of the first in srbija] by laza zuban in 1836. monument in the middle is dedicated to the serbian war heroes erected soon after the famous victory at solun [thessaloniki] in WWI.

until few years ago square was congested with traffic and monument was almost not noticeable.

.................trg srpskih ratnika, kraljevo, srbija, 2007
following the trend in most european cities square was pedestrianized together with couple of surrounding streets in the city center. it is already deteriorating and needs significant "face lift". otherwise space is well used and quite pleasant.

sign of the poor state of the whole city are stray dogs present everywhere. two are visible on this panorama.

my father was born in this city. in 1918 my grandfataher was teacher here.
